Pinellas County to get improved boating signs

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) in September will begin installing waterway markers for state-adopted boating safety zones around the bridges on the Intracoastal Waterway in western Pinellas County. The work begins next month and should be completed by the end of the year.

The FWC is installing new markers along with replacing signs to reflect a recent change in the state-adopted boating safety zone rule. This will improve safety and the boating experience in the area.

Boaters are urged to use caution, particularly in narrow waterways, while the sign installation is underway.
