Pinellas County is hosting a public meeting to discuss the proposed improvements on the former McMullen property addition to the Wall Springs Park. The county is planning a Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program grant submission for the Wall Springs Coastal Additions project and will discuss the proposed recreational amenities and modifications made to the design since the last public meeting was held on April 28, 2015.

A public meeting will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at 6:30 p.m. at Baywood Village Clubhouse located at 309 Westwinds Drive in Palm Harbor. Representatives from the project team will be available to take comments and answer questions. Residents can call (727) 464-4812 for additional project information.

The Wall Springs McMullen addition is a 121-acre parcel of land located west of Alternate US 19 and north of Wai Lanai Road. The proposed improvements include a picnic shelter pavilion, elevated observation platform, paved trails, nature trails and restrooms.

The $3.66 million construction project is anticipated to begin in 2016 and will be funded by Penny for Pinellas.
