Twice-a-week Irrigation Gets Okay from County Commission
Residents are now permitted to water their yards two days per week, in conformity with the Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board. This is permissible regardless of the water source. Previously, residents using well, lake, or pond water could water twice a week, but residents using county drinking water were limited to once a week.
After a public hearing on Oct. 26, the Board of County Commissioners voted to adopt changes to Pinellas County Code 82-2 which governs the schedule for drinking water irrigation. Now, the watering restrictions and schedule are identical regardless of whether a resident gets their water from the county or from a well, lake or pond.
