Regional workshop addresses National Flood Insurance Program concerns

The Nov. 13 workshop is offered by Pinellas County Extension's Sustainable Living section

This course is designed to provide an overview of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and discuss changes resulting from the Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2012 and the new Community Rating System manual. The workshop will also include a review of effective mitigation strategies and the Coastal Resilience Index tool. An interactive, facilitated panel discussion will provide an opportunity for attendees to ask questions pertaining to the course content.
